Compare aluminium scrap prices by material
An aluminium scrap rate is only useful when it describes the same type of material you have. Window sections with steel screws and rubber seals are not the same lot as clean aluminium offcuts. Cast parts, sheet and cable can also be assessed separately.

Aluminium types to keep separate

These groups help describe a lot; they do not establish a universal price order. Alloy, contamination, recovery requirements and the buyer's specification all matter.
Do not identify aluminium by a magnet alone
A magnet can help reveal some attached ferrous metal. It cannot confirm that an item is aluminium, identify its alloy or distinguish it from every other non-magnetic metal. Share markings or known material specifications if available, and ask for inspection where identification is uncertain.
Aluminium window-frame scrap: what weight is being bought?
For a batch of old window frames, show rubber seals, glass and attached fittings in the photographs. Ask whether the quotation applies to the assemblies as supplied or to accepted aluminium after separation. Do not subtract an assumed percentage for attachments: agree on the assessment method with the buyer.
Record sections, sheet offcuts and cast parts on separate inventory lines. If an alloy specification is available, include it; if not, label it unknown. This lets the buyer explain which items can share a price and which need inspection.
Why two per-kg quotes can differ
Check whether both prices refer to the same grade and condition. One buyer may quote for clean sorted aluminium, while another is valuing mixed material as supplied. Packaging, attached parts, accepted net weight and transport can change the final amount.
Keep iron and steel and copper cable separate when practical. Do not spend money on stripping or dismantling until you understand the buyer's requirements and the likely benefit.
Prepare your aluminium scrap for assessment
- Group similar material and keep it dry and accessible.
- Photograph both clean examples and items with attachments.
- Record an approximate weight for each group.
- Share your city or pincode, loading access and any large dimensions.
- Agree on inspection, weighing, deductions and payment terms before handover.

Worked example: compare net proceeds on the same basis
The figures below are arithmetic examples only, not KN TRADERS buying rates or a transport tariff. Assume both offers accept the same 100 kg of the same material:

Offer B leaves ₹300 more in this example despite its lower rate. If accepted weight, grade, taxes or deductions differ, reconcile those before comparing the offers. Confirm actual rates and all applicable terms with the buyer; these figures exclude taxes and other deductions.
